clempung (celempung)

A *clempung* (or *celempung*) of the *gamelan sléndro* Kyahi Sangumukti.

Metal-string zither with a box resonator. Strings are paired in double courses and plucked with the performer’s long thumbnails. One clempung is found in common practice sléndro gamelans, one or two in common practice pélog gamelans.
